Masvidal v Khabilov head to head odds
Fighter | Odds | |

Masvidal | $2.33 | |
Khabilov | $1.55 |
There’s a really interesting fight in store when Jorge Masvidal and Rustam Khabilov get into the Octagon on November 7th. The Lightweight Division has been full of quality for some time, and you can safely include both Masvidal and Khabilov in that. Khabilov’s debut against Vinc Pichel ended in spectacular fashion, with the Russian basically throwing his opponent around like a ragdoll before finishing him with punches – and all in the first round. Khabilov is strong, there’s no debate about that, and he has had no problems in his first two fights, with a strong ground-and-pound game seeing him to victory in both. But Masvidal is a fighter with pretty solid grapple defence, and Khabilov could find himself having to think of another way to win this one.
The big factor in Masvidal’s favour is likely to be his experience. Whatever the strong young Russian brings to the fight isn’t going to faze him, and that could be what swings it in his direction. It could well be that his gameplan will be to frustrate Khabilov by neutralising his obvious strengths, and too look for an opportunity to develop as the less experienced fighter gets desperate, or position himself to take a win on points if it goes all the way.
At the end of the day, we’re leaning towards the veteran Masvidal, but you can see that he’s the bookies’ outsider at $2.33, and we’ll definitely be watching to see if Khabilov can justify those odds of $1.55 and take the win that will catapult him into the top ten in the division, and seal his reputation as the up-and-coming talent to watch. Still, with Masvidal the underrated fighter in a busy weight division, and with so much more experience behind him, we think he’s worth backing at $2.33…
