Controlling the power of England's pack could be the key to victory in Saturday's Four Nations final, Aussie prop Petero Civoniceva has said. The rugby league show piece will be a re-match of the tie played earlier in the competition when England lost but came back strong to win the second half.
The Penrith Panthers star said the power of England's forwards caused most of the problems in the earlier fixture and said he expects a similarly physical battle at Elland Road at the weekend.
Civoniceva said: "They have balance right across the park with great experience up front in Morley and Peacock and some of the best young forwards in the game with Ellis, Graham, Crabtree and Sam Burgess.
"They all played their part in taking us apart in the second half so we’ve some work to do this week, but we’ll be ready."
Rugby league betting markets still have the Kangaroos as overwhelming favourites, with IASbet rating them 1.16 to England's odds of 5.25.
England beat New Zealand last weekend to make the grand final, but Australia have dominated the odds throughout the tournament.
Civoniceva added his side would be using the experience of losing to New Zealand in the 2008 Rugby League World Cup final as an extra motivator for the game on Saturday.
