The Kangaroos have made a number of changes to the side which beat England in last weekend's Four Nations clash as they bid to make good their odds of tournament favourites.Coach Tim Sheens now has an eye on the final next weekend after Australia's victory over the hosts last Saturday, and face France in their final pool game.
Rugby league betting markets at Sportsbet have them at 1.22 to win the tournament, with New Zealand, who play England this weekend, on 5.00. England need to overcome the Kiwis to make the final and are on 13.00.
Aussies coach Sheens has had to fight off claims that he is fielding a second-string side on Saturday in Paris, having opted to rest Melbourne trio Greg Inglis, Cameron Smith and Billy Slater.
Quoted by the Australian, sheens said: "The side I put out, that's a very good side.
"For anyone to say that's a second-string side . . . I don't think we have a first-string side. I've changed both sides and I'm going into the third game just keeping the structure."
