Cummings youngster is Emirates betting favourite

 So You Think has been confirmed as the bookies' favourite for the Emirates Stakes on Saturday.

The Bart Cummings-trained youngster is on odds of 2.80 with IASbet, already down from an opening price of 3.00.

Closest to this on Thursday evening was Gold Salute, at 8.00, followed closely by Rightfully Yours and Vigor, both on 10.00.

If So You Think does win the 1600m group 1 feature at Flemington, he will emulate the feat achieved by Taj Rossi – currently the only horse to have scooped the double of Cox Plate and Emirates Stakes.

Taj Rossi, who was also trained by Bart Cummings, won the pair in 1973 and a repeat by So You Think would confirm his place as one of Australia's most promising horses.

He has been handed 52.5kg for Saturday – half a kilo over weight-for-age.

Also in the field for Saturday is Black Piranha, on 11.00, while Walking Or Dancing also features on current odds of 13.00.

Trainer Danny O'Brien will be hoping for a strong showing for Vigor after he missed out on the Melbourne Cup after ending up 25th in the order of entry for Tuesday's race.
