Odds narrow for stormy Typhoon Tracy

 Typhoon Tracy is attracting the attention of tipsters for the $500,000 Myer Classic at Flemington on Saturday.

The mare has emerged as the favourite for the 1600m, and is now short-priced in most betting markets.

Centrebet currently has her on odds of 2.40, with Hot Danish second favourite on 4.85.

Betfair's Kristen Manning says Typhoon Tracy "looks like being the shortest priced favourite of the day", but warned Hot Danish is the main threat.

The Age racing writer John Rothfield has tipped Hot Danish rather than the current favourite.

Manning also pointed to Lady Lynette, saying: "She won the Tesio over this same trip at Moonee Valley and whilst she takes on better mares this time she really knows how to get to the line - winning nine of 20."

Betfair's market currently also has Typhoon Tracy as the favourite, on 2.42, while hot Danish is at 5.50 and Lady Lynette is on 12.00.

Gold Water, who trainer Gai Waterhouse has backed as one of her biggest chances of the weekend, is on 11.00 with the betting exchange.

Placings bets at Betfair show 2.78 for Gold Water and 3.50 for Lady Lynette, while Jolie's Shinju, on 48.00 for the win, is on 6.20 for a placings finish.
