Ortensia has been confirmed as a starter in the $1 million Railway Stakes on Saturday after trainer Tony Noonan put the horse through track work on Tuesday.Noonan consulted with the horse's owners before the final decision was made, with a hold for the Winterbottom stakes an earlier option.
Cenrtebet has installed her high in the betting at 8.50 – third favourite behind Gold Salute at 4.50 and All American at 6.50.
However, she is up against an unfavourable barrier 13 draw.
Noonan told perthracing.com.au: "She will definitely take her place in the Railway Stakes. The barrier is not that bad as she likes to be held up for a run.
"I expect her to be very hard to beat in the Railway and do not be surprised if I she starts in the Winterbottom the following week."
Connections of the mare will be hoping she has better luck at Ascot on Saturday than her last start, an unfortunate second at Flemington on Cup day.
Noonan added he felt she was capable of winning both the Railway and the Winterbottom Stakes the week after.
Craig Williams will partner Ortensia on Saturday.
