There have been plenty of fights in Anderson Silva’s UFC career, and a record number of title defences, too. If you go all the way back to the Rich Franklin fight that won him the title in the first place, you’ll find no shortage of people saying that the Brazilian had met his match. The same was true of a Dan Henderson fight that the pundits said matched Silva against his nightmare opponent, but Silva out-wrestled one of the great wrestlers and took that bout by submission in the second. So when Chris Weidman says the champion has met his match, you’ll forgive us if we’re not totally convinced. Us, and the bookies, too, if the odds above are any evidence.

But look past that $1.35 and the Silva fight offers some interesting bets. All through his career, Silva has finished opponents handily in the first round of his bouts, and you’ll get $3.38 for him to stop Weidman before the first five minutes is up. In fact, if it goes into a fifth round, you’ll get a long $9.20. Maybe save your money there. You’ll only get $1.22 for the fight not to go the distance, which seems like a decent assumption – maybe take a look at a Silva win by KO or Submission at $1.63...
