Andy Murray has said he expected no easy matches no matter who he ended up with in the draw for the ATP World Tour Finals. On Wednesday the Scot drew in group A alongside Roger Federer, Fernando Verdasco and Juan Martin Del Potro.
He faces Del Potro in his opener today, and is currently third favourite for the tournament in most online tennis betting markets.
The matches at the O2 Arena in London are all best of three tie-break sets with two players from each group going through to the semi-finals.
Murray said: "In my group Federer is the best in the world, Del Potro has won the US Open and Verdasco has just had his best season to date - there are no easy matches regardless of what group you're in.
"At the end of your career you're remembered for Grand Slams, but to win something like this, you have to beat five of the best players in the world in consecutive matches if you want to lift the trophy which is a very difficult thing to do.”
Betfair rates Murray at 5.10 for the tournament, with Swiss and world No1 Roger Federer the favourite at 3.60.
